Paolo Tenti
Full Professor
Paolo Tenti received the degree with honors in electrical engineering from the University of Padova in 1975.
Since 1990 he was full professor of Electronics and Power Electronics with the Department of Information Engineering, where he served until retirement in 2021. In 2022, he was appointed Emeritus Professor of Electronics from the Italian Ministry of University.
From 2001 to 2008, he was the Director of the Department of Information Engineering and served as Academic Senator and Chairman of the Council of Department Directors of the Padova University from 2003 to 2008.
His main research interests deal with power electronics and industrial electronics. Currently, he works on power quality, distributed compensation techniques, and smart microgrids.
Prof. Tenti became IEEE Fellow in 1999 and received the IEEE Millennium Medal in 2000. From 1991 to 2001, he was a Member of the Executive Board of the IEEE Industry Applications Society (IAS), and in 1997 he served as IAS President. Since the foundation in 1996 till 2020, he was the President of CREIVen, Research Center on Industrial Electronics in Padova.
